Terms of Service
By accessing or using PeerPact's platform ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of the terms, you may not access the Service.
2. Description of Service
PeerPact is an online marketplace connecting academics seeking editing and translation services with qualified professionals ("Providers"). We facilitate the matching, communication, payment, and delivery of academic editing and translation services.
3. User Accounts
- You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
- One person may not maintain multiple accounts
4. For Customers
4.1 Submissions
- You must have the right to submit documents for editing/translation
- Submissions must not violate any laws or third-party rights
- We do not accept submissions for academic fraud purposes
4.2 Payment
- Prices are displayed before submission and are binding
- Payment is required before work begins
- Funds are held in escrow and released upon your approval
4.3 Review and Approval
- You must review deliverables within 7 days
- Failure to respond may result in automatic approval
- Revision requests must be reasonable and within scope
5. For Providers
5.1 Qualifications
- You must accurately represent your credentials and expertise
- False credentials may result in immediate termination
- You must maintain professional standards
5.2 Work Standards
- All work must be original and performed by you personally
- Use of AI tools must be disclosed and approved
- Deadlines must be met or communicated in advance
- Customer documents are confidential
5.3 Payments
- Platform fee is 15% of the job value
- Payments are processed weekly for approved work
- You are responsible for your own taxes
6. Prohibited Activities
- Attempting to circumvent the platform for direct payment
- Sharing contact information before project completion
- Harassment, discrimination, or abusive behavior
- Submitting plagiarized or fraudulent content
- Creating fake reviews or manipulating ratings
- Using the platform for any illegal purpose
7. Intellectual Property
Customers retain full ownership of their original documents and all edited/translated versions. Providers grant customers a perpetual license to use their edits. PeerPact retains no rights to customer content.
8. Dispute Resolution
- Disputes should first be resolved through our platform's messaging
- Unresolved disputes may be escalated to our support team
- We reserve the right to make final binding decisions on disputes
- Refunds are issued at our discretion based on investigation
9. Limitation of Liability
PeerPact acts as a marketplace and is not responsible for the quality of work provided by independent Providers. Our liability is limited to the fees paid to us for the specific transaction in question.
10. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violations of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions that by nature should survive termination shall survive.
11. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
